My work is concerned with the materiality of the ‘art object’ as determined by its colour, carrier and ability to receive and reflect light in a site specific environment.

Referring to Minimalism, design and architecture the work also resembles containers and domestic objects. The stretched surface is plastic which is ironed and heat shrunk until taught, making the space between the layers of film an ambiguous one, a frozen movement, captured and preserved.

The surface sometimes semi-transparent or otherwise acting as a mirror reflecting the viewer and the surrounding spaces.

The participator is allowed the freedom to explore the whole piece from the front, sides and back (and the works relationship to the supporting walls) therefore encouraging intimacy and a relationship to the ‘skin-like’ surface.

I would like the work to prompt memories or events that can no longer be fully announced, whilst using the surface to define the surrounding space and the viewers relationship to the object, and the objects relationship to each other.
